Hi Sheila. I've been wanting to use shredded coconut that is called for in

some recipes but all that I have found has sulphites in it. I'd prefer to

have no sulphites, but wondering if they are legal. I have also been giving

my son Lucas organic coconut milk (diluted) to replace the brown rice milk

he was drinking for 2 years. I know that I can make my own, however I was

hoping to find something legal I could purchase as I have 3 little one's

under age 4 1/2 and one on the way. It has been difficult trying to get

Lucas to drink other things. He does not drink on his own (he used to) and

must have so much fluid/day as he has Diabetes Insipidus (as a result of

neurosurgery May '04 to remove a tumour in the hypothalamus). My husband

and I spoon it into him. Will the bit of guar gum prevent Lucas from

healing fully?

He used to love soup but no longer. We do not stop trying though. We could

not do the intro diet as Lucas would not eat any of the suggested foods.

Since starting a few months ago Lucas' stools have been quite soft and runny

at times. Lately they have been sandy as well. He has started to bang his

head again and other autistic tendencies have begun to reappear. Prior to

starting Lucas had regular bowel movements (1-3/day). We have not

introduced any probiotics or enzymes yet, although I am quite eager to do

so. I just want to make sure that we are purchasing the right ones and can

get Lucas to take them in applesauce. He has taken supplements this way

before. Please let me know if you or anyone have any thoughts to share.

Thanks for all the wonderful insight and support thus far.
