Guest guest
Bruce, What is the bio-medical diet? What is the website? Thanks in advance!!! The past few weeks it has been really bad. Up to 7 liquid stools a day. Prior to this we have done the GFCF diet for about 2 1/2 years and bio-medical for about two years. Maybe this is not the diet for ? Maybe BED or Low Oxcilate? Any suggestion? Aside from usual DAN suppliments, digestive enzymes, transdermal glutothione and vitamins, we are also chelating (transdermal DMSA, Chorella & Methyl Peruvate), giving transdermal Low Dose Naltrexone (a casien/gluten opiate blocker) and Actose (anti-inflammatory). Stool analysis didn't turned up any yeast, bacterial or viral infection or parasites. Doctor said this doesn't mean there is none there. --------------------------------- Brings words and photos together (easily) with PhotoMail - it's free and works with Yahoo! Mail. Guest guest
We really need to know what the child is eating now. Did you start with the intro deit and slowly add new foods, keeping a food log? Chlorella is not allowed on SCD. Plus, from my understanding, there is no evidence that it chelates anything. This is from Dr. Haley at the AutismOne conference, if I remember right. How long have you been chelating? Guest guest
Jody, First, thank you and everyone else for their responses. eats eggs, ghee, stews, beef, chicken, turkey, rice, quinos, blueberrys, strawberrys, bananas, tatert tots, peanut butter, carrots, beans and diluted pear & apple juice. He drinks rice milk, mostly to get him to eat vitamins and suppliments disolved in it. He eats applesauce and bananas, to get him to eat amino acid suppliments. Food & beverages are organic, whenever possible. We did not do the intro diet nor food log because used to eat anything and he never had any problems on the GFCF diet. He has lately become picky, rejecting some vegitables and eating less overall, but still a good eater for the most part. We didn't know about chorella being illegal, but our DAN doctor just told us to stop it. has been chelating for about nine months. Six months on trandermal DMPS and then the last three months transdermal DMSA and chorella the whole time. It's been two weeks since we last used DMSA. We are now using a natural chelator Methyl Peruvate. Second urine metals test showed lead a little high (slightly high in blood too), but dropped on next test & mercury went up. However, both in the reference range. The next to last test all metals down. Urine metals test from last week showed Chromium elevated range. His last full lab test in January showed bio-med markers normal. > > We really need to know what the child is eating now. > > Did you start with the intro deit and slowly add new foods, keeping a > food log? > > Chlorella is not allowed on SCD. Guest guest
Jody, This is what is eating now. Our DAN Doctor wanted us to do SCD/GFCF/Low Sugar/No Flour diet. Our DAN doc and Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner (recommended by our DAN doc) said the flour, even pecan/almond flour or pecan/almond milk, are clogging up his system – making his belly extended. In order for us to have something he could eat, our DAN doc & Chinese Herbalist said we could give those SCD illegal items. At the time we knew some were illegal, but we thought it would be OK. Is not following the SCD exactly causing the diarrhea? Is cheating on the SCD preventing from gaining the benefits? Guest guest
" Is not following the SCD exactly causing the diarrhea? Is cheating on the SCD preventing from gaining the benefits? " I have to say that cheating will DEFINITELY prevent healing from taking place. Please consider starting over with the intro diet. Then slowly add new foods, one at a time. Keep a food log. Read the information on pecanbread.com, especially this page: http://www.foodprep.html Including complex carbs in his diet makes him NOT on SCD. SCD forbids rice, quinoa, corn, potatoes, all grains, etc. If you aren't sure whether something is okay, check Elaine's website to be certain. http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info Click on the link that says " Legal/Illegal List " .
