Well, first I second Mtn. Rose Herbs. Good stuff! Now, I'd like to know

about this VCO. How do you know it's fermented - they don't mention it at

their site? Is it mentioned in the catalog? If so, that's a great price!

Even with shipping, it's less than I pay wholesale for the TT VCO through my

co-op! I'm getting excited. :-)

Mountain Rose herbs are so fresh, it makes the herbs on the store shelf taste

like powdered cardboard and chalk! I think they are the greatest alongside

www.dd-herbs.com.

In the pines, the traditional way to make coconut oil includes

fermentation. Fermentation makes it shelf stable, and since so many people

living in the pines do not have a refrigerator, and of course ages past,

fermenting was not " optional " like it is now. Unfermented coconut oil is a

luxury of fast food production for a fast society with amenities. Fermented

coconut oil is still traditional and common in the pines.

The extra virgin coconut oil sold at Mountain Rose is sourced from the

pines, and shelf stable. If you look under the extra information part,

while they do not say it is fermented, it does say shelf stable for 2 years.

This would not be possible if it were not fermented. And Mountain does not add

any preservatives, without a doubt.

The coconut oil I have been using from my co-op is Wilderness Family Naturals,

which is $14.60 a quart. It is also fermented, just FYI.

Summer:)
