Florasone Cream by Boericke & Tafel

If this Florasone cream is a hydrocortisone herbal-substitute, why don't we

hear more about its usage? Hydrocortisone is known for reducing facing

redness...

First of all, all the topics go in waves. Something is

discussed a lot and then fades away until someone

asks. We've talked about Florasone about 50 times here

in the last year or so, just not much recently.

2.

There are quite a few people who don't believe they

can be helped by something safe and made from plants.

They think it is all hocus-pocus and prefer to rely on

the medical establishment. They also believe their

problem will be solved faster by the big guns (what I

call a " silver bullet " ), like a course of Accutane or

a laser.

When I post about homeopathics, naturopathy,

accupuncture, and nutrition, I get quite a few hostile

responses that aren't posted to the group -- you'd be

suprised...

I made one of the original posts about Florasone. I

found it to be effective when my face was badly flared

up about a year ago. It is light and lays smoothly

under makeup. It feels a little weird and warm when I

first apply it, but seems to quickly bring any burning

and itching under control.

I didn't try it for all-over redness because I'm not

red all over. I still sometimes get itchy, sore

breakouts that don't heal well... they get scabby and

peely before they heal. In addition, I had

island-shaped patches at the corners of my nose,

corners of my mouth, and on my cheeks and jawline,

which would stay pink and swollen and flake and crack.

The Florasone was great for this.

Although I no longer use it daily, I keep it in my

purse, my desk, and my medicine cabinet.

Walgreens on the way home hoping to find it, but couldn't... he asked the

pharmacist and she'd thought she heard of it but couldn't place it. Should

I just order this over the Internet perhaps? It's the cracks of my nose

that have problems too.

I'm not Suzi, but I've found it at a health food store. It was in the

first-aid section, not the facial care section.

Suzi,

Do you know if there is any risk of using this product longterm? For

example, with Echinacea, you're not supposed to take it more than 5

days or it weakens your immune system. Are there any problems with

Florasone?

Also, it's a real shame you get hostile emails in response to your

posts on natural remedies. I hope that doesn't discourage you from

posting anymore messages on natural, alternative solutions. I

personally find it helpful to see both sides.

I ran around the house to see if I still have a

package insert somewhere but -- alas -- I don't. As I

remember, the insert says that the cream is ok for

long term use and doesn't have the complications from

such that you would have with steriods (rebound

effects, etc.).

I find Florasone at my local Whole Foods stores. I

know some folks have bought it online... It's not

super expensive. ($7? $9? something like that).
