Guest guest
, just an fyi, if you have chronic pancreatitis, frequently your amylase and lipase levels are normal. It just makes me wonder sometimes if it is the panc and that it just went chronic quickly, which it can do. Just saying, don't rule it out. Hopefully it will be something they can fix easily. And yeah, many ER's are a pain in the butt. (polite term substituted for what I really wanted to say). Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@... Guest guest
Kimber, Yeah, I know that the amylase and lipase could be normal during an attack if I actually do have chronic panc instead of recurring acute attacks or whatever else is going on with my bod. The thing is that there seems to be some overlapping between panc and liver disorders, especially between panc and primary biliary cirrhosis. My wonderful surgeon, whom I felt so sure was my saviour, never even bothered to call me today, as he said he would. Perhaps it is for the best. Perhaps I do need to let my new pcp guide me to the right doctors and procedures to determine what is going on in my body. Thanks to everyone for just listening to me and being here for me through all this. Dear ; I just wanted you to know that I hope you had a restful night last night and I am sorry that you had such a rough time the last couple of days. Don't blame yourself for your family's distress - they love you and are just feeling helpless. Just work together towards finding what is wrong and we will all hope for better days for you in the future. Hope you can come to the Sympsoium. I look forward to meeting everyone - it will be a great opportunity to sit down and participate in interactive discussions with pancreatic specialists, and others, like you, whose lives have been affected by this disease. Take care, Gail West, Indiana

Guest guest
, sorry your surgeon turned out to be a dud. Hopefully your new PCP is of some help in finding out the problem.
