can you try to use antispasmodic herbs in teas to calm down the pain in his

tummy

pancrecarb--any users?

We are considering using pancrecarb for our son who eats exclusively

via g-tube. This has some other medications in it that we already

take such as prilosec and ursodial. Does anyone else use this

medication and did it fully replace the use of prilosec (or

zantac?)? It seems to be taking forever for our dietician to get

back to us on this one.

We use Pancrecarb (though Jake does not have a G tube). We never did use

reflux meds but I think we were heading down that path. Jake no longer

suffers from reflux or the awful digestion that he had while on Creon

(lots of painful gas, acidic poops that burned his bottom).

My son was put on Pancrecarb MS-4 about 1 year ago and still have

difficulty gaining weight. Zantac 75 mg twice daily was added and

that did the trick. I know the enzyme is supposed to also have an

antacid in it but it was not enough. He does not have reflux but it

was felt the stomach acid was breaking down the enzymes before they

had a chance to reach his intestine.

Hope this helps.

Oh, thanks, he is fine now, though. The enzyme change did the trick. Or

did you mean the original poster? Great suggestion though!

Yes, Wyatt was on Zantac and since being on Pancreacarb he no longer

uses zantac.
