Guest guest
can you try to use antispasmodic herbs in teas to calm down the pain in his tummy pancrecarb--any users? We are considering using pancrecarb for our son who eats exclusively via g-tube. This has some other medications in it that we already take such as prilosec and ursodial. Does anyone else use this medication and did it fully replace the use of prilosec (or zantac?)? It seems to be taking forever for our dietician to get back to us on this one. Guest guest
We use Pancrecarb (though Jake does not have a G tube). We never did use reflux meds but I think we were heading down that path. Jake no longer suffers from reflux or the awful digestion that he had while on Creon (lots of painful gas, acidic poops that burned his bottom). )O( mama to , 2yo, wCF and alpha-1 and to , 4 yo, w/alpha-1 but no CF pancrecarb--any users? Guest guest
Speaking of antacids - when my daughter was first diagnosed she was put on Zantac 3x day. Then her GI put her on a special preparation of Prevacid in a syrup. Advantages: Just 1 dose of 2mls per day (every 24 hrs) No gas, no diaper rash, or tummy aches -just make sure you don't miss a dose. Disadvantages: The pharmacy has to make it special and so it can take a few days to refill, (and sometimes the pharmacists moan and groan a little.) The preparation has to be refrigerated, it lasts only 30 days, and separates like crazy so you really have to shake it well. - mom of three (6 yrs, 4 yrs w/o CF, 10 months w/CF) > can you try to use antispasmodic herbs in teas to calm down the pain in his > tummy > pancrecarb--any users? > > We are considering using pancrecarb for our son who eats exclusively > via g-tube. Guest guest
Oh, thanks, he is fine now, though. The enzyme change did the trick. Or did you mean the original poster? Great suggestion though! )O( mama to , 2yo, wCF and alpha-1 and to , 4 yo, w/alpha-1 but no CF Re: pancrecarb--any users? can you try to use antispasmodic herbs in teas to calm down the pain in his tummy pancrecarb--any users?
