Guest guest
Another question?? I read somewhere that a skin biopsy was the only sure way to tell if a person has rosacea? is this true? if so, what does the skin biopsy reveal about rosacea skin which makes it so different from regular normal skin? I have never had one but I have had different and conflicting opinions from derms on whether or not I have rosacea. I guess where I don't have the flares, that some would dismiss rosacea. What do you think other derms have seen that would lead them to believe that I have rosacea? Take care Have a relaxing weekend.
Guest guest
The following is a quote from Postgraduate Medicine Online; " There is no specific test for rosacea, but its characteristic appearance, cutaneous distribution, discrete course, typical target population, and response to various therapies make accurate diagnosis possible. " From the research I've read, skin biopsies are normally performed to exclude other diseases such as lupus or sarcoidosis. And after having gone to four dermatologists over the last five years (one of whom has rosacea himself), not one has ever mentioned a skin biopsy for rosacea or mentioned an absolute test for diagnosis. > Another question??
