Guest guest
Hi. I'm new to this group, and fairly new to the whole world of rosacea treatment (though ive suffered from it for years). I've done five photoderms at Dr Bitter's office with fairly good results. The visible flushing is greatly reduced, though I still feel it flushing deep down. Superficial redness is better, but still a problem. As a man I have issues with using green makeup, but I'm getting comfortable with the idea of the tinted sunscreens since I need a sunscreen anyway while using doxicycline and metrocream. I was using the TISILK spf 45+, but just got some of the ZINCO which is so highly touted here. The ZInco does feel and look a bit better but its spf rating is only 20, and it's a bit messier. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether ZINCO is a sufficient sunblock for an antibiotic using rosacea sufferer? Also, I have prescriptions for both clonidine tablets and propranolol. Does anyone else use either one with any regularity and success? I find the propranolol to be not noticably effective, and the clonidine to be mildly helpful but problematic with sideeffects. Just curious about other experiences. Lastly, I was reading somewhere G Nase's reply to someone a while back regarding antihistamines and NASALCROM. He put forward a theory involving mast cells in the nose causing vascular inlammation...or something like that...and NASALCROM and antihistamnies in general being helpful to reduce this inflammation. Has that led anywhere? Are people using NASALCROM? Thanks.
