Guest guest
, It is too soon for you to be eating the soft foods. Dr. R strongly suggests that you stay on liquids for at least 14 days, longer if possible. Try more yogurt, broth, soup for now. I know you're anxious, but... please take it easy. As for the blood, you may have irritated the staple line, so... again, you will need to take it easy on what you eat. You need to be very sensitive to what your body is telling you. If you have any pain, excess nausea, or more vomiting, call Dr. R's office. As for your PCP not being happy about the 11 lb weight loss, he/she either does not understand the surgery you had, or has not accepted the fact that the weight loss you have experienced in one week is totally normal given the new size of the stomach and the bypassed 6 feet of intestine. Did your PCP read a copy of the manual or did you give her any info about the expected weight loss with this surgery? If you need to contact Dr. R - don't do it by email. I think he should already be out of town for his presentation in Memphis by now. Call the office if you need to reach him. I'm sure they will know who is covering for Dr. R.
