Anyone with more details, please post. >> Okay, okay... Theresa (Taup111@...). Had her surgery April 10th (not in May), same litter as , Sharon from MD, , Tonni, Bonnie and of course yours truly, Theresa has had problems with vomiting from the beginning. She was at home and was hospitalized. When she came home from the hospital she finally contacted Dr. R. and he said to come down and he'd take care of her. For whatever reason she never made it down to NC. Was hospitalized again and contacted Dr. R. to do the revision. Although I haven't personally heard that the revision was done, I assumed it was because Dr. R.'s paper lists four revisions to date and I recalled that as of the previous report stated only three revisions. I have not heard from Theresa recently. In her last email to me and my fellow littermates she stated she was on her way down to have the revision done. To date she had lost about 70lbs and felt miserable. As for , Dr. R. has not made a " formal " statement although her sister has given her permission when he feels ready to do so. According to his paper she died due to a perferated bowel I believe. I'm sure a day doesn't go by that he doesn't think of her (I know none do for me). Hopefully after he presents his paper and takes a much deserved vacation he'll take the time to say something " official " . I'm done now. {{HUGS}} Claire MGB 4/10/00 300/264 15.25 inches lost forever!! You have shared from the heart and I really appreciate it. Also, you have given me many points to consider. Only I can make this decision so I want to be as informed as possible. It's obvious you have a great sense of peace about the surgery . . . I envy that. Part of me is excited and part of me is afraid of what can happen. I am going through the appropriate steps to get approved and will keep you posted on my progress. Bye for now, Teilah
Guest guest
I seriously doubt that DR R will make any " official " statement. I would be shocked if he did. Too many confidentiality issues at stake. From what I read she had major adhesions in her abdomen(no doubt some adhered to her bowel or omentum. The autopsy results are not clear either....she could have had something else going on as well. She was not in the best of health and had had previous complications post surgery(Other surgery non WLS) as well. I feel it is a miracle that only one has died from this surgery. Believe me I have seen people die from tonsillectomies and nose jobs. Other things too in my experience as an ICU nurse that you would not think would happen but do. Abdominal surgery is very risky. In my mind the MGB is the ONLY way to go unless you can't for some reason. Kinda weird that was in the same " litter " .......as ....does that mean the same day?? -- In MiniGastricBypass (AT) e, sMama2@a... wrote: > In a message dated 6/11/00 6:23:09 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > lindat@f... writes: > > << I don't think she posts to the list.
