Guest guest
Hi Jody,I started this past Oct/2005 skipped the intro due to pickiness-would not have soup or boiled fruit.Saw great results within two weeks, typically hyperactivity first fiew days with discoloured stools. The problem began 3 weeks ago, stomach aches, bowel movements went to every three days and went to other extreme of being to soft(usually he always had hard stools, went to normal ones for the most part before the change) decided to take away bananas and have seen some improvement. Now he still complains about his stomach and am thinking the apples(golden delicious) maybe aggrevating him.He is now on compounded nystatin and probiotics. Now his diet consists of eggs (,no dairy.no yoghurt) meats, brocolli and peas, raw peeled apples ,nut flour pancakes and very view cookies(monster) he only drinks water and enjoys watermelon. Thats it for diet he is picky and does not usually like things that are red or orange in colour He has been on nystatin for just a week and I was not giving recommanded dose at first because I was afraid that he was already having something major going on(had a soft stool that looked like he had strains of fiberous looking stuff) I am know giving him his regular dose. What concerned me the most was that he has been complaining of stomach pains for some time now before he started meds. Also he has returned to climbing and hitting me-things he had stopped doing when his bowel movemnts first changed at the beginning of the diet.I have a feeling its yeast but am not sure-what do I do? how do I take away the apples I am suspecting that they are hurting him now.I was thinkiong it was time to have NAET done to him.It is the guessing that is driving me crazy and I know I need to calm down and find a way to help him with his discomfor. He is also drinking alot more sincethe first marked improvemnts on the diet and is throwing things around. I really do believe that all of these behaviours are tied into what has changed in his body and obviously I am missing something,.I know I probably sound all over the map Thanks for your response.Take care TONI Matteo almost 4 yrs,scd almost 4 months. Guest guest
Hi Toni! It's just me...I just read this and I was thinking. Those are definitely strong signs of fungus in the body. Perhaps bacteria as well. Along with the nystatin you can also try tea tree oil (ointment or liquid but dilute it before applying to the anus). Pau D'Arco is a liquid extract herb for fungus that I have been rubbing on the soles of Lucas' feet this past week. I get it at Fine Herbs at a distributer price. You can also take it internally, but for Lucas it is easier this way. Also, try to cut back on all sugars as much as possible-honey, bananas, any sweet fruits. I know it's not easy. For apples use Granny - they are more tart, not as much sugar. Let me know if I can help in any way. Guest guest
Dear Toni, I'm not an expert - but I guess most of us are fairly new at this. I found the big DAN book an invalueable reference. It has told us so much about diet, infections, die-off, treatment and supplements. It's hard as a read - but as a reference text has served us very well indeed. It includes a very well-written summary on SCD and a description of some regressions that have been encountered by the first set of children trying the diet. See the link below (I've pasted the details too). From your email it looked like you were doing many good things - we've encountered die off several times. Again this is covered in the book - especially about yeast. Hope this helps somehow.
