acidolpolus (SP?) is great. You really need to take in in the capsule form

because the amount that you can get in yougart is not enough, you would need to

eat yougart about 6 times a day to get a benifit of the bacteria. It is really

important if he has had antibiotics. As soon as a course of antibiotics is done

the coleny of bacteria in the intestines is wiped out and over ridden with the

bad. He can take 3 capsules of it daily and with that get slippery elm which

feeds the good bacteria in the gut. (This is prebiotics and probiotics) When

he takes the capsules they need to be taken on a empty stomach and drunk with a

big glass of water so that the HCL in the stomach does not break down the

acidolpolus and it gets a chance to go to the intestine where it needs to go.

He can take the slippery Elm 1 teaspoon 3 x per day, in yougart or a milk shake.

Adding some flaxseed oil to the milk shake is also a good idea, about

15mls-30mls per day.

Supplementing him with Vit E and A,D, and betacaratone is a good idea. You can

use halibut oil (cod liver oil ) if he can handel it. I often rub Vit E and A

capsules directly into my sons skin when I massage him, this way it will bypass

the digestive system. I put it in a carrier oil like almond or wheatgerm. I

also would supplemt him with omega 3s like fish oils, make sure it has higher

DHA than EPA, ( Ithink) Another is magnesium, this seems to be short in CF

people, I am sure others can tell you more. There is also a site called

crataegus where they have some good information.

Hope this helps
