Karyn has been working diligently to set up a great list of speakers

for the 3rd Annual Symposium on Pancreatitis. This will be a special

time to network with each other and with Pancreatitis Specialists.

Just think – you will be able to sit down and talk face-to-face with

people that have to deal with the same things you do. You will also

get to talk to the specialists and people who care enough to help by

giving of their time – that most precious commodity.

On Friday we will be hearing about Stem Cell/Pancreatic Research,

Gastroenterology, Pancreatic Surgery, Saving our Spirituality,

Locating our Resources and Neuro-Opthalmology.

On Saturday we will learn how to Journal our Journey and begin our

own journal. This is a great resource for relieving stress and

helping get through those tough times that happen in our lives. It

is also a place to store some " Smile Files " to look back at and

remember good times. We will also learn about Pain Management, Our

Medical Journal (see note below), a survivor and success story from a

Islet Cell surgery, Pancreatic Nutrition, and more. . .

I have made up extra Symposium Packages, so if you find out you can

make it at the last minute, come on down (or up, or over). We also

encourage you to bring your family, caregivers and/or friends that

want to learn more about Pancreatitis. Anyone whose life has been

affected by Pancreatitis is welcome to join us. If you email me

today or tomorrow, I will still be able to personalize your package.

I will be leaving early Thursday to join Karyn to tie up those last

minute details.

(Note: We hope to make a Medical Journal starting with a basic

format, then sharing ideas and adding/editing it. After working

together we hope to have a set of fill-in forms that can be offered

on a CD to the members of the Pancreatitis Association

International. Please bring your ideas to share. Thanks)
