Re: flare up caused by computer screen?

I have found for myself, I can flush/flare while working on the

computer, talking on a cell phone, talking on a regular phone,

playing a hand-held video game, watching a movie at home or out, and

at my job during certain times when extreme concentration or focus is

necessary. I believe it has nothing to do with the monitor, phone,

or video display, but everything to do with my mental concentration

and its effect on my sympathetic nerves. Even the simplest of tasks

that require concentration, such as using a seam ripper to remove a

label from one of my shirts, can cause a quick and substantial

flush. The effect can then be greatly magnified if I'm in a warm or

stuffy environment.

Yes. I have flareups when I sit in front of my computer screen for too

long. There have even been a few studies (although not many) linking

computer use to cea (obviously nothing proved that rosacea is caused

solely by computer use, but they all showed a correlation between severity

of rosacea symptoms and amount of time in front of a computer screen) I

dont know the science behind it, but it has something to do with the

radiation being emitted from the computer. The same thing would probably

happen if you sat 9 inches from your TV for a long time. One thing that

might help a little is to turn the gamma correction down on your computer.

There are also radiation guards (at least some of which dont work, sort of

like water filters, good in theory, but some of 'em make promises they dont

seem to deliver) And there are some flat-screen monitors that are

radiation-free.
