Guest guest
Dear Jane Wojo, I am 51, and had the mgb in Jan. 2000. I went home the second day post op, but Dr. R had not started doing discharges on the first day post op yet. My post op pain from the surgery was about 2 to 3, and easy to manage with the demerol pump. My pre-op BMI was 51, I weighed 330. I have lost 58 lbs, (my surgery was a revision and we lose a little slower). in 51/2 months. My co-morbidities are vastly improved, if not gone. I don't worry about the amount of protein I get, I eat protein and veggies for the most part, and sometimes have protein supplement if I don't think I have had enough for a few days. I feel great and walk or work out at the gym several times a week. My words of advice, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? Jo
Guest guest
Hello, Jo ! Thanks for your reply. I sent my info to Dr. R on 6/20 and hope to hear that my insurance will pay for this without a big hassle. I talked to the Claims Manager at the insurance company and she stated that they have approved the surgery before. That's a start. I'll Self Pay if I have to !!!!!! Jo, I'm new to this MGB stuff. What is a revision? and Why? Thanks for the scoop!!!! Jane
