Burning after Photoderm?

With my luck, I'm the only one this has ever happened to, but im

hoping someone out there might know whats causing it. After

undergoing Photoderm, the left side of my face began hurting

sometime between my 3rd and 5th treatments.. Now it hurts all the

time. Its just a part of that side, but everything makes it

hurt. Even a slight cold breeze (which used to feel like heaven

on my face) now feels great on the right side of my face, and

makes the left side burn like crazy. It hurts almost all the

time. Some of the areas where it hurts are a little more flushed

than the rest, and some parts look completely pale, some of it

was treated by Photoderm, and some of it wasnt (cuz I didn't

wanna risk losing the hair). The only connection is that its all

in the same general area. The center of the pain is sometimes in

slightly different areas.. (sometimes upper left cheek, sometimes

lower left cheek etc) but its almost constant now. During bad

flushes my cea used to be uncomfortable, but now it feels

like I'm in hell every day. and lately the right side has been

starting to hurt a little more too. I can't stand this anymore,

I literally can not maintain a regular life with this anymore.

If the fact that I look like a big, swollen, pimply tomato isn't

enough to stop me from going out, the searing pain is! I really

hope somebody can help me with this.. At this point I'd be happy

to just be where I was before this big Photoderm mess!

(Finally after being rescheduled several times I have my

appointment with them in two days.. but the nurse already told me

she doesn't know whats wrong.. It'd be nice to have at least a

bit of an idea as to what the problem is before I go in there.

I've thought about calling Dr. Bitter or something to ask him if

he had any ideas, but he probably won't help me since I'm not

even his patient)

Adam,

I read once that a member of this group was having an unusual response to

photoderm. The doctor who was treating her was Dr. Kemsley in Calgary who was

Bitter trained. Dr. Kemsley E-mailed Dr. Bitter for advice. Is your doctor

Bitter trained? If so, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to help. Even if your

doctor isn't Bitter trained I'd try contacting him anyway.

I think Dr. Bitter should be informed of all patients experiencing an adverse

response to photoderm. I think his study results are misleading. I also did

not have a good response to photoderm treatment.
