/,

No flames intended. Actually the Atkins diet is not too bad

SHORT term for someone who needs to lose some weight in a hurry (like

to qualify for Dancing with Dr. R.), but in the long run it isn't

good for your body. Some homeopathic physicians really advocate a

short term very low carb diet to help ride the body of candida

albicans (yeast) to help restore the body's natural flora from too

many antibiotics and refined sugars/flours. BUT I wouldn't recommend

it in the long run for a healthy body.

, there are links on the www.clos.net site to Dr.

Ornish's info. Just go to clos.net and search for Ornish. I bought

one of his books and it is great. I guess one thing to keep in mind

on Atkins vs Ornish is that all of Atkins " numbers " are self funded

and his corporation is totally for profit, whereas the indepentant

research on Dr. Ornish's program has always been published in medical

journals and Dr. Ornish's affliations are non-profit.

Yours in Christ's Love,

Donna B. Statesville, NC

Dear Donna,

Thank you for your information! I too have been on the Atkins

Diet and after about a week (if that) if I never look at an egg or a

salad or a peice of meat it will not be too soon...LOL. I have tried

the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet, which is a modified Dr. Atkins and it

wasn't too bad. I lost about 40 pounds with that one. But, Like all

the others I loose and then gain back more...sigh. I will check out

the Ornish diet...Thank you for your reply.

Love,

Still waiting
