Guest guest
Yes, we did send all our children, including the one with cf, to public school. We did it then, and I would choose it now. Inclusiveness is very important. But then we live in Berkeley, California, which has great public schools. Had we lived in a less kind, supportive, educa tionally adequate school district, I cannot say what we would have done. I myself am the product of both and I HATED private school--loved those public schools of so long ago. I think that kids need to meet all kinds of other kids and in this University-centered community that has been an easy and safe thing to accomplish. I cannot speak for other locations. I do feel this, though: one does not make a sacrificial lamb\ of one's child for principles; one looks out for the " best interest of the child. " We hope. Love to all parents at cfparents, n Rojas, wcf, CFRD, 3 WILD adult " kids, " youngest with cystic fibrosis; kid was always two years ahead in public school--loved it-- was nuts about taking tests, loved them!!
