Hey there,

I truly wish I had the answers for you, we have talked alot about

this option for Jackie. It is something I said many times I was

still saying " is this the right thing for my child up until he had

the surgery " , BUT as I have said the options we had that lied before

us were few, so for Brandan the thought of a second chance was what

made us go forward as you know.

As with the disease, even without the disease we are still faced

with everyday questions in regards to Brandans health and as I have

said he will always live with the effects of this disease. YES

Brandan does no longer have attacks and Brandan has been now 72 days

without insulin, he still has residual pain that we are looking into

with CT scans to see as to why? His long acting pain medication has

been discontinued it has been two weeks now since he has had it(first

time in over two years), but he still does take oxycodone for pain.

It had been also decreasing but due to the pain he is now

experiencing some of which could be from abscesses on the inside

incision. We are looking into having them removed in hopes that it

will relieve some of his discomfort. IT is like always a day at a

time. We take the good with the bad and wish for more good always.

I pray in time and I know in my heart that he will eventually be

better than he has ever been.

I pray this finds Jackie doing well, we are so happy she loved the

puppy. : ) Please let her know we are thinking of her and if

you ever want or need to talk I am a phone call away. I was happy to

read Dr. Sutherlands email, he is as I said truly an angel. As

always keeping you and yours in our thoughts and prayers. Keep

smiling(cuz sometimes its all one can do!) TTFN Peg.. : )
