Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am getting ready to try the cea LTD Disks. For those that have used them successfully, did you use any other facial cleanser besides the one they recommend? They recommend using Cetaphil cleansing bar for dry sensitive skin. I am not sure if I really like this cleanser, so I thought about getting something else but I don't want to screw up the chances of this actually working for me. Also, how long before I should actually start seeing results if indeed this product works for me. Thanks!! Jennette
Guest guest
Jennette, I don't know anything about cea LTD Disks, but I suspect their recommendation is any cleanser that is non-irritating to you, Cetaphil being just a suggestion. I can't imagine that there are ingredients in the Disks that are synergistic or otherwise require Cetaphil, specifically. If you have a favorite cleanser, I'd bet that's fine to use. (And share it with us -- some of us are still looking for a good, basic cleanser. ) Marjorie Marjorie Lazoff, MD > Hi everyone, > > I am getting ready to try the cea LTD Disks. Guest guest
You mentioned looking for a good, basic cleanser. Why not try Olay foaming face wash for sensitive skin? It is recommended by Dr. Nase on page 191 of his book. I am using it and like it. Guest guest
I called them and they said that is the cleanser they recommend because it is good for sensitive skin. I even told them I have oily skin not dry but they still insisted this was the cleanser to use. I was just wondering if anyone else that uses the discs used other cleansers. Guest guest
Hi Jennette, I believe you can use any cleanser that seems to be working for you. I use the discs and I cleanse my face with the cea Care cleanser. I got it as part of their sample kit. The amazing part is that it's only about .25 oz. and I'm only half way through it after using it twice a day for 3 months. A small drop lathers my entire face and leaves my skin smooth and ready for the discs. To date, ALL my redness in my forehead is gone as well as all the tiny little papules on my forehead. It hasn't been this clear and smooth in over 2 years! The redness on my cheeks is 95% gone. The main thing I'm working on now is making the scarring from the larger papules disappear. At this rate, I figure it will be another 3 or 4 months and I'll be totally clear of all signs of my cea. You should expect some results within 2 to 3 weeks, especially the lessening of the redness. Make sure you drink the recomended amount of daily water. Good luck! - cea LTD Discs Hi everyone, I am getting ready to try the cea LTD Disks. Guest guest
I use the disks w/ both Aveeno creamy baby wash & Almay Kinetin (sp?) face wash. I travel a lot, so I tend to use whichever wash I didn't leave in my overnight bag! I always use a drop of vita oil on my wet skin before using the disk. It's not that I find the disks drying (they were at first, but that has passed), but I find that the drop of oil helps reduce residue left by the disks. Also, when I do have residue, I lightly pat water on the areas & blot with a towel (leaving skin damp so there's still medication left on my skin). I've found that wiping w/ a dry towel to be unpleasant! Finally, with the yellow disk, I find it easier to lightly " tap " the disk on my face, rather than use a wiping motion. No matter how lightly I wipe, I leave too much medication (residue), and the yellow disk is a tad scratchy, compared to the beige one. Overall, the disks keep pustules away. I've been doing the niaminicide routine (for about 4 weeks now), and I kinda sorta think it's helping w/ my overall redness. I still use makeup, but not because I have too. Guest guest
While we're on the subject here, doesn't the rosacea limited disk have NaCl, which is comedogenic according to the comedogenicity databases? Generally, I agree with the concept, looses the filler, emulsifiers, and such, and making a pure sulfur topical treatment, but then why add the comedogenic ingredients? And, supposedly ZnO, which I believe is in their disks is also slightly comedogenic. Which brings us to another point. The antimicrobial spectrum of sulfur is exactly what? Has it been proven to be active against all bacteria and yeasts such as benzoyl peroxide has? This is important for those on systemic antibiotics who need to prevent superinfection and emerging resistance. Benzoyl peroxide, which is possibly irritating, has proven activity against gram negatives, yeasts, and resistant p. acnes. Is there any such evidence for sulfur alone? Anyays, just thought I'd add my two cents, as I've been using sulfoxyl for the last two weeks and am fairly impressed, though I'll reserve final judgement until I'm sure. > Hi Jennette, > > I believe you can use any cleanser that seems to be working for you. Guest guest
I used cea LTD Disk before, at first I use tolerial cleanser, the rosacea LTD Disk made my face more red, however, it get rid of my flushing temperorly. I called them about why it made my face more red, they asked me which cleanser I use. They said I have to use the cleanser they recommended, because the other cleanser does not get rid the oil that well. Also they said you use to wash face at least twice a day, three times will be better. I followed his intruction for another several days, my face still be more red when I applied them, so I decide to return it back. I guess I should be more patient then.
