Guest guest
I know this topic has been covered before but would like to reaffirm the timescale needed for thi I have found that antibiotics cause my ance to worsen for the first month. I also notice my face flakes considerably when on them so I always give up. I wondered if antibiotics cause the skin to get worse before better and if you really do have to wait three months before they become effective. Also re: diet, can I ask how long a restrcted diet should be carried out? Should I wait three months before any real results are seen on that too? The reason I ask is that I get fed up with the side effects of antibiotics after a month and get fed up with not seeing dramatic results from diet after a few days. --------------------------------- Sign up to watch the FIFA World Cup video highlights from your desk! http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/fc/en

I also notice my face flakes considerably when on them so I flakes can be either caused by topical concurrently used or a worsening of seborrheic dermatitis caused by a supression of bacteria. If you supress the p ovale on the scalp, synergistically the facial sb improves. ZNP bar to scalp, leave on for 10 min or more every day is effective. Zinc Pyrithione is the premier anti sd treatment. Look at the alteratives. Selenim sulfide has a side effect of hair loss. Nizorol has problems with emerging gram positive antibiotic resistance. always give up. What antibiotic are you on? And, at what dose? This is where the microbiologic vs. anti-inflammatory debate rages on. If you're not improving based on the anti-inflammatory properties of the antibiotic, you'd better hope it suppreses bacteria that lipase sebum to free fatty acids and infect bursting follicules. The easy way, and you'd be right more often than not, is to say the right antibiotic is minocin 100 mg bid. The harder way, but the more exact way, is to surface swab and do a culture and sensitivity test on the p acnes flora. And, then culture a few pustules to make sure there are not gram negatives or staph aureus. Then, you're set. Sit back and wait for your skin to improve. > Also re: diet, can I ask how long a restrcted diet should be carried out?
