Guest guest
Hi Bear, I don't really have any info on the birth control patch, but I did see a post from you (can't remember how long ago) asking about birth control and pancreatitis. My doctor had me stop taking my pill because my pancreas problems began about a month after i started taking it. I never knew that estrogens are listed as one of the possible drug causes of pancreatitis. I asked him about depo and/or other forms of birth control as it is the easiest and most convenient form. He said that they don't really know why, but for some reason any forms of hormones taken for contraception, regardless of how they are taken can cause problems. Therefore, with the patch you are still taking in estrogens just like taking the pill--it is going into your body and working the same way, it is just easier for some because often people forget to take the pill. I wish I had more explanations, but at least my dr. was honest enough to admit that they don't have all the answers. best wishes, Kay
