Guest guest
Hi Genz, Where do you live in Texas? My husband and I are hoping to move to Texas in the not too distant future. We would probably be in Montgomery or Conroe which are north of Houston. I love to read your posts. I'm so glad you got to have the MGB! I'm waiting and praying for insurance approval. Guest guest
Hi Sara, I live in Keller which is a suburb north of Ft.Worth. We almost transfered to Conroe a few years ago....it's really beautiful....lots of forrest from what I can remember and Lake Conroe is there. I'm really glad I've had my surgery also....it's really hard to believe. We went out last night and I had several bites of a real tender filet mignon and it was so good. I haven't had any problems eating beef , pork or chicken. I just don't have to worry about portion control anymore because my body does it for me. I just know when I've had enough...it's wonderful. I even ate a few Texas Nachos. It was like a queso dip filled with ground beef and you dipped your corn chip in it. Four of those and I was finished. I'm concentrating on eating lots of protein. So far I'm not finding anything I can't tolerate. Even fried eggs....after I've dabbed the oil off with a paper napkin are just fine. Breads aren't a problem either. It's real funny...things taste the same but I almost have to force myself to eat.....It's like right now, it's 1:30 in the afternoon and I haven't had anything to eat today and I'm not hungry. I've taken my meds and that's all. No hunger. I go to my PCP next wednesday for a four week post-op check up and bloodwork. I'm anxious to see the reading on my triglycerides. I won't be long and you'll be doing your post-op follow ups too. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Love, Genz Vaughn and Sara Schütz wrote: > Hi Genz, > > Where do you live in Texas? Guest guest
Hi Genz, It's nice to hear that there are trees in the Conroe area. It's very woodsy where we live now, and I would miss the trees if there weren't any. My brother lives in Dallas. He is a psychologist. His wife is a lawyer. I would like to live in Texas so we could be closer to them and get to see them more than we do. It's exciting to hear that you can eat so many things. I hope I will be able to enjoy a good nacho now and then after my MGB!! Sara smootgen@... wrote: > Hi Sara, > I live in Keller which is a suburb north of Ft.Worth. Guest guest
Hi Gwen, I have been blessed with tremendous support from this list also. It is so nice to be able to make new friends from so many different places. We're all so different but then we are all very much alike. We have had a lot of the same adversities thrown our way and it is so nice to find such a large group of understanding individuals. The understanding and support are so overwhelming at times, it's hard to believe. I'm glad you're a part of the group. My name is Genzel....my friends call me Genz for short. There are so many s on this list that I go by Genz here too. Genzel is a German name and not very common. When I first started dating my husband, for the first week I would ask " What's your last name again?????? I never dreamed I would be stuck with it....ha..ha My youngest daughter Tenneil married and her last name is now Smoot (another German doozey).... We tease her all the time and tell her she needs to hyphenate her name so then she will be Tenneil Genzel-Smoot. How's that for an unusual name.... My 2 year old granddaughter can't say her aunt's name so she calls her Nene. Yesterday we tried to get her to say Smoot and it came out Poot!!!!! So now Tenneil is Aunt Nene Poot..... I just about busted my stitches laughing so hard....( oh I forgot, I don't have any stitches). So there's a short history of the names around here. I'm afraid I'm stuck with Genz, but that's ok because I got the man that goes with the name and he's a honey. Guest guest
My husband is a real jewel, and I was and still am after 27 yrs, proud to carry his name. I like DeWitt better than I liked Holland anyway. But then I like my Randy a whole lot too. I know what you mean about children saying names: My grandmother has a cousin that we grew up knowing, and her name is Newt (go figure) and she is married to a man whose nickname is Piggy. We grew up calling them Poot and Piggy, wish I had a dime for everytime I got in trouble for saying " such things " . How times have changed, but I never did, it was only 2 weeks ago that my mother got on to me for saying Poot and Piggy. I was the kind of mother to my kids that laughed at " such things " and then told them it was an inside joke that never left our family ears. I can't wait to have grandchildren, my mother really will have attacks at the " such things " I let my grandchildren get away with. Hopefully I will be able to physically enjoy my grandchildren more than my children. My oldest son is 20 (yesterday) and the youngest will be 18 in 3 weeks. So the reality of grandchildren is right around the corner. And I am here to tell you that if you ever meet my grandchildren you won't be able to stand them, because I am going to spoil them so bad that only family will love them because they have to.
Gwen - Re: Re: ? for Post-Ops about Headaches - Debbie/Chris Thanks Bernadine, I've got you beat--my clothes go from an 8 to a 24!! LOL! Don't be a chicken. After 2 kids, her figure is only slightly bigger (maybe a size 8) than she was in college 23 years ago. Amazing. Not me, clothes in my closet go from a size 24 to a 14. Enjoy the wedding. I found a dress (size 24, yawn - can't wait to wear it LOL). Congrats on getting approved, you're turn is next! I am usually one of those people who says I will help anybody and everybody needs somebody, but when it comes to me I would rather do it myself. I am not one to ask for help or for support. So this site has been wonderful for me I am getting so much help and support and not having to ask anyone for anything,. Guest guest
Genz: I haven't gotten a chance to say hi since after our surgeries. I haven't been on the computer as much as before. How are you doing? Sounds like you are coming along just fine. It has been rather chaotic for me since surgery but I am coming along great. I am only weighing in once a month and so far I am down 26 pounds. Needless to say I am pleased with my results. Please, let me hear from you. I need to hear a friendly voice. Jackie in DE 5/24/00 285/259 (still searching for the bow-flex man) << The truth is I am blessed.....I have the most wonderful circle of friends on this list and I have a wonderful surgeon that has changed my life. My family is loving and caring and I have a gracious and forgiving God. What else could a girl ask for?????? Except maybe a flashy new red convertible to go with the new bod....ha..ha >>
