Nuestra Comunidad Sana is a small 501©(3) Promotor/a de Salud program in the beautiful Columbia River Valley of Oregon and Washington. We are in a very rural area, but only about one hour's drive from Oregon's largest city, Portland. Our office is located in Hood River County, which has 25% Hispanic/Latino population, according to the 2000 census.

We are searching for the right person to lead us during a period of transition, as we become a subsidiary of a much larger, well-respected social service non-profit. Professional health background very helpful, but not essential. Being totally conversant with the culture(s) of Mexico is essential, as over 95% of our region's Hispanics are of Mexican parentage.

Below is an ad placed this week in the statewide newspaper. The salary is competitive with those locally, and appropriate to expenses here, unless one wished to buy a house in the city of Hood River, which is very expensive due to windsurfing.
