Guest guest
I don't know of anything in our state Sth Australia, that is for cf kids. Our school had a meeting with us and we told them this is what we want and they do everything we asked. When she was two I spoke with the campus headmaster and he said it doesn't matter what is wrong with the kids they would still take them (if you can get them in). They have ramp's everywhere there are stairs , but I've never seen anyone in a wheelchair. Maybe as she gets older we may face more issues of non attendance? Hopefully she can plan her hsp. admission for school holidaysLOL. (Australia) Re: response to post on 504 plan in us schools DEAR ALL JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT IN THE UK EDUCATION SYSTEM THEY HAVE WHAT IS CALLED A RECORD OF NEEDS. THE CHILD IS ASSESSED BEFORE GOING TO SCHOOL OR EVEN AFTER STARTING TO SEE IF THEY WILL BE ABLE TO COPE WITH THE EVERYDAY REGIME OF SCHOOL LIFE EG; STAIRS, CLASS SIZES, SAFETY, AND LOTS OF OTHER POINTS. ONCE THE RECORD OF NEEDS IS OPENED THE SCHOOL HAS THEN TO MEET THE CHILDS NEEDS AND YOU HAVE A MEETING ONCE A YEAR TO SEE IF THEY HAVE BEEN. IF NOT THEY WILL BE TAKEN TO TASK AS TO WHY NOT AND THINGS WILL BE PUT IN PLACE TO DO SO.THIS IN MY OPINION IS A VERY GOOD WAY TO KEEP ON TOP OF SCHOOLS WHO ARE NOT REALLY INTERESTED IN OUR CHILDREN. TAKE CARE GOD BLESS IRIS Mcesana@... wrote:HOORAY! Just think of all the children who are probably eligible for these plans or equivalents in their own countries--and whose parents have never even heard of them--especially in the usa!
