Guest guest
- i just started SCD with my daughter about 4 days ago too. so far its not been hard at all. just alot of thinking ahead. I got everything, I mean everything out of my kitchen that isn't legal so if we mindlessly grab something for a snack, it will automatically be legal no questions asked. I am hoping that I lose some weight and she gets better! anyone here lose weight on the diet or can I expect to fatten up with all the nut flours, etc. -- In pecanbread , " furryhalfpint " wrote: > > Well, I joined my kids on SCD 4 days ago. Guest guest
I admit I myself did not adhere to the diet extremely well, but even so, within the first 6 months of my daughter being on the scd, I lost 15 pounds, just not eating as much sugar and starches. I didn't even realize I was losing weight until summer rolled around and I got out old shorts that were inches too big around the waist!! BONUS!! The cool thing was that my daughter gained and grew a lot-- about 7 pounds in almost a year, and she has grown about 1.5 inches. I know she is absorbing a lot more nutrition than before. It works for both of us. > > > > Well, I joined my kids on SCD 4 days ago. I was just in the kitchen > > making the muffins to begin the constipation protocol tomorrow morning > > when " duty called. Guest guest
We have been on the diet for 5 1/2 wks and I have lost about 8#. I have ate all that I want and am not hungry/craving 'stuff' all the time. It has been pretty interesting as I used to be a real dessert halic. Since starting this diet I can go to the store and a candy bar seems just disgusting. I see some of the comercials on TV for some things and they are repulsive. It really has not been a difficult diet for me to stick to. Sandy M > > > > Well, I joined my kids on SCD 4 days ago. Guest guest
Before this weight loss thread goes any further I would like to share some history. Having been on a medication that creates weight gain for 16 years until the late 1990's and BEFORE I presented with celiac disease I weighed 219 pounds. Over a period of two years using various weight loss diets, i lost 86 pounds. When I started SCD I was concerned with maintaining the weight loss in a manner that verged on obsessive. I had joined another listserve that supports adults on the SCD and quickly came in the sites of both the group moderator and Elaine. Try as they might, I could not separate my weight loss commentary from SCD until I resigned from the group because I did not understand that SCD supercedes weight concerns. As stated in a previous post, many adults and children are either underweight or malnourished when they start SCD. If you need to control weight, no one understand better than I, how important it may be to you. However, it is essential that we do not present or misinterrupt SCD as a weight loss diet. SCD will contribute to maintaining a reasonable desirable weight, but nutrition and healing is the first consideration on Pecanbread. My weight loss story is at the site below my signature. Following SCD has helped me stay very close to my goal weight for six years because it freed me of the type of starch and gluten that seems to increase the appetite for more of the same. Also the healthy fats on SCD are very satisfying. Carol F. http://www.angelfire.com/on4/diva_dog/

We are one year out (admiringly) making some mistakes along the way), yet have never felt better! I am recovering from Celiac Diseases and atypical malabsorption of the intestines, IBS, GERD, autistic problems, mental problems myself, and all my kids are healing too. My entire family (husband and three kids) are SCD and is thriving!!!!! We wouldn't eat any other way! Sincerely, Antoinette what a feeling! Well, I joined my kids on SCD 4 days ago.
