Guest guest
Thanks Carol! It is great to have a place where you can share such " inappropriate " yet relevant and significant milestones in ones life. There are not many people that I could share such a moment with due to the nature of the topic, and yet I simply wanted to share because it was such a boost of encouragement for me. I appreciate your vote of approval. Jeni Lynn > > > ----- Original Message ----- > when " duty called. " I walked to the bathroom and " unloaded. " > > > > This may be gross, but I am so excited. Guest guest
Hi " cmasonfan " I admit I myself did not adhere to the diet extremely well, but even > so, within the first 6 months of my daughter being on the scd, I lost > 15 pounds, just not eating as much sugar and starches. Much to his suprise he lost about 40 lbs (over 6 months or so)that he had been struggling to lose. Not only did he lose the weight but he said that after a week on the diet he had more energy and could think much more clearly than when eating the starches etc. The really interesting things was that he was eating 3 regular meals and snacks (his favorite was peanuts and raisins). Lots of nuts, butter, whole milk yogurt etc. Before SCD he ate low fat everything and tiny meals. I told Elaine and she wrote a little poem for us - something about Jack Spratt and eating lean. I can't find the poem now but remember I laughed so hard I sprayed the keyboard with tea. Sheila SCD 60 months, UC 22 yrs

I did my last class yesterday for the season and look forward to soon being able to see my toes in the shower again or otherwise dining at Sheila's and eating whatever her husband does. Sigh! Our homemade food is just too good! Carol F.
