Guest guest
Dear Moya, and all of you who emailed me off list, I purchase my herb pharm products from my local food co-op. Herbal Ed does have a web site which can be accessed with this link: http://www.myvitanet.com/vitanet/herpharcom.html Please! Remember that herbs are medicines too. Many of todays Rx compounds are derived from plants. Many herbs interact with Rx meds and it takes someone with knowkedge of herbs and face to face contact with you to devise a safe individualized plan. Please enlist the guidance of your local herbalist, native american shaman, naturopath, or allopath with herbal credentials. I know it seems silly but it isn't. A researcher at U of Chicago, Moss, MD, has identified a group of compounds (SGA's or solanaceous glycoalkaloids) in the nightshade family which inhibit two enzymes needed to breakdown anesthetics including paralytics. Think twice before eating that tomato or potato or smoking that ciggie! Over the edge? Maybe, but i once knew a woman going through menopause and the only thing she could eat without getting sick was a baked potato. This could be valuable info if she were to need surgery. Garlic is so intense that i cannot stand the odor right under my nose and also it is very hot when it reaches the tongue. My lips can be dry at times so i wanted something nourishing and moisturizing. My chin tends to be oily. I thought the salve might be a little too moisturizing although if my chin were very dry i would probably use herbal ed salve on both areas. Garlic is both antifungal and antibacterial. I don't know what to say about the increased flushing (i.e. what causes it and what to do). The longer i stayed on the " road back to digestive health eating pattern " the flushing became less and less. The topicals merely treated the symptoms on my skin...that is why the topicals need to change as the skin progresses or digresses. I just ordered some vitamin K cream to use topically. and i am still using grapeseed-almond oil in my moisturizer. This summer i am planning to stop using the comfrey and test the vitamin K cream. I will say one thing if you are using antiperspirant...stop. Use deodorant instead. Let you body get rid of heat naturally under the arms. Grapeseed extract helps vitamin c enter cells, strengthens cells and protects from oxidative damage. It helps protect collagen fibers, strengthen capillaries and can improve circulation. I have found grapeseed extract quite beneficial for my healing. Theoretically vitamin K sounds promising enough that i want to give it a shot. Though i am not recommending that you do so. Once more, i am not recommending any herbals to anyone. I am merely stating what i used and why it helped. Please seek guidance from your trusted health care specialist, K? Guest guest
Hi A and/or C: I've never heard of that particular journal, but there's no way a " scientifically prestigious " journal would let so many mistatements through. Plus, they would get someone to improve the grammar. I'm a skeptic; if I see errors in what I do know, I don't trust that source for what I don't know. Just because it is authored by an MD doesn't mean it's automatically true or worthy of consideration. My opinion, FWIW.
