Guest guest
I have to say, Matija's post about Nasalcrom reinforces my theory. I was an afternoon flusher for years, and it (I haven't found anything to disprove this in a year of experimenting) because I had developed a basic food allergy to something I ate almost every day for lunch. I know from previous posts that Matija eats a carefully controlled diet (perhaps that's the reason you haven't needed the Nasalcrom?). My own pattern was to flush around 3-5 p.m., depending on when I had eaten lunch. I became suspicious when I realized I flushed mid-morning, but only on days we had staff meetings! It wasn't stress, or the environment, but the snacks! Listen, way back in the 1980s I was questions whether it was my computer display terminal, the florescent lights, the air conditioning, etc. The flushing followed me through jobs and environments over the years. I disappeared now and then (probably when I was taking antihistimines for hay fever, etc.) and would reappear, seemingly mysteriously. Finally, after my symptoms suddenly became increasingly severe last year -- and involved many body symptoms, and not just my face -- I realized it was probably a food allergy. If anyone is a regular " time of day " flusher, I highly recommend keeping a food diary for three or four weeks, charting what you eat and when you experience symptoms. It seems excessive, but can possibly save you a ton of heartache and money. It might be as simple as your salad, diet soda, or bread, you never know. And, food allergies can manifest at any time in your life. What I'm allergic to isn't the point of this post -- encouraging self-discovery is! Guest guest
I have a question. I seem to spontaneously flush in the evening hours every day for a half hour to a couple hours. However, it's just my nose. I've gone days where I've eaten everything on the planet, and days where I've eaten nothing at all. Therefore, I don't think it is a food allergy. Also, my other flushing problem is exercise. I'm just wondering if this is related to the sympathetic nerves. I know that in Nase's book he mentioned the relationship between the those nerves and the increase in body heat during the later hours, and I know ETS helped him. I'm very cautious of the surgery, however. Does anyone know if he has any regrets from it. This spontaneous flush seems to be my biggest problem because it is so unpredictable, but once it happens I'm good for the rest of night. Any insight? Guest guest
I, too, flushed at a certain time everyday, between 3 and 6 PM for years (12 years). I thought it was related to what I ate, but I could never find a connection. After 12 years things got worse. My flushing increased, and I had some tissue growth on the nose, and my nose began to get permanently red. I've had about 6 V-beam treatments over the last year and a half. All the permanent red is gone. The treatments have almost eliminated the flushing. I still try to flush just about daily, or flush with a minimum red nose - more pink in spots. It is only my nose that does this. My derm told me many patients tell her they flush the same time each day. My flushing is definitely related to my " down time " each day - the time of day when my body is most tired. I seem to perk up after that time. Re: Late Afternoon Flushing > > I have a question.
