Why are AHAs bad?

For years, not knowing that I had rosacea, I used a routine of

Neostrata glycolic acid products with much success in controlling

breakouts. My face was always reddish, but the broken capillaries

weren't too bad. About a year ago, learning that I had rosacea and

hearing that AHAs were bad for it, I discontinued AHAs and have been

seeking more gentle products. However, in the last year, the number

of broken capillaries on my face has escalated exponentially. I'm

also experiencing more breakouts. I'm wondering why.

What exactly is the problem with AHAs?

Thanks.
