Guest guest
Thank for the input about how people who are " fat " are judged so wrongly. I was diagnosed as Celiac last May 2005, I have also a history of many other related problems. My wieght has flucutated from 90 pounds up to 230 pounds all my life. I have had 14 surgeries, and four miscariages, six surgeries to correct bent legs due to rickets/osteoporosis (caused by malabsorption to calcium and minerals as a child)and much more has happened to me. We never knew why. I now know that many people with malabsorption of the intestines can be " fat " or even dignosed falsely with anorexia like I was. It is nice that people are realizing that this is a true problem out there. I am cureently with my family of five, all starting the strict SCD diet. We are on day four. I still feel pretty crummy and hope for this stage to pass quick. I think in light of new informaiton out there that in todays definition I very likely would have been diagnosed as having autism as a child yet do not know for certain. Instead I was diagnosed with IBS, depression, mood disorders, atypical eating disorders, and " hyperchodria " . So much more suffering, no one ever knew what was wrong with me. I now know that it was all related to going 37 years undiagnosed as having malabsorption problems and Celiac DIsease. Now I have two children who are battling ADHD, and autistic related problems. They both have been confirmed as having malabsorption of the intestines....since we have tried many different ways of eating last year...I hope that this one is the fix! We all need to hang in there!
