Guest guest
Hi Tammy, I hope that this question is not too personal, but doesn't Brittnay qualify for medicaid? get's SSI on and off depending what my husband makes each month (he's a truck driver), along with this comes medicaid for the medically needy. One of the deciding factors in my quitting work was the fact that my earnings could in no way compare with the expenses in having a child with CF. I'm sure I dont have to elaborate. During the months that the medicaid is not there, we have childrens medical services that picks up EVERYTHING that my ex- husbands insurance doesn't cover. The coolest part of all of this is the fact that we didn't even have to look for this help. The woman from the hospital's financial services offered it from day one. With me working we don't have a lot of extras like fancy cars or great vacations. But the whole family will agree it's much more peacefull around the house with mommy not being stressed by bills, work and a sick child. It is very gratifying to be there for my kids when they need me. I'm sure that there are people in the world that don't approve of me taking advantage (if you could call it that) of the system, but you know what? They can kiss my a@@! I sleep well at night, at least as well as you can with 19 mo old twins! Take care,
