Concerned Sis: Questions about pancreatitis...haven't been on in awhile

My sis has had chronic pancreatitis since May. She also had a

miscarriage during this time. So far, they are unable to find out

what is causing it and she has to get more testing done. She is

still very sick and in a lot of pain. I have told her about this

group, but right now I don't think she is up to talkin to anyone

much. I am very worried about her. I have a lot of questions about

pancreatitis, and I am gonna ask a few here. I have seen some of the

postings talk about end stage pancreatits. Does anyone know how many

years it takes for chronic pancreatitis to go away? What are the

treatments other than pain medication? My sis already had a

galbladder removed and the ERCP and neither helped. How serious does

this disease get? What can I do to be helpful? I drive her to her

appointments, but I want to help her out more. Thank you for any

suggestions.
