Guest guest
ditto for me.....Dr. Lazoff is one of two benefits of this group! While there is a general enmity toward the AMA in this group, it is hypocritical since a significant number of the posts are about prescription medication which can only be obtained from doctors, unless you live near the Mexican border. I have total respect and admiration for doctors who have spent their entire life in medicine and in the care of patients. Emergency Medicine is one of the most stressful jobs in the field and for her to take the time to post for this group is absolutely amazing to me. Most doctors would not bother with this group, especially if respect is lacking for their opinion. Dr. Lazoff could easily drop out of this group and this group suffer a loss not easily replaced. You should treasure each of her posts, even if you disagree. Respect each post for what it is worth, even if you disagree. Guest guest
Ok, I have not read all my weekend posts yet, but I can't resist replying to what I have so far seen as a common theme. I have only been a part of this group for about a week. I have found it to be very helpful and I have gotten the opportunity to hopefully help others by my own experiences. I agree with many of the posts that Dr. Lazoff is taking the time to offer her " opinion " one that is based on her medical training and I am sure her personal experience as well. It is very fortunate for us to have someone who can speak knowledgeably on many subjects. I have read her posts and found her advice to be sound. Let's not forget however, that even though she may have her MD that other people have had experiences that have also increased their knowledge of rosacea and they too can be relied upon as an accurate source of information. In the end, it's try and try until YOU find something that works for YOU; without hearing other people's point of view, I would not be aware (in just one week!) of the other options out there as far as treating our shared condition. I also want to add that rosacea is extremely frustrating and I personally would give anything to find a cure or at the very least a product that works consistently. I would not however, go as far as to sacrifice my overal good health. We are vulnerable people because we all know what it is like to be desperate for just a smidgen of hope; I think the purpose of some of Dr. Lazoff's posts and I know the purpose of my response to the suggestion of tanning to help alleviate rosacea symptoms, is to say " is it worth it? " I don't feel defensive about the small group of people who felt that my response was unwarrented. I did not attack Dr. Lazoff, I attacked her suggestion because I feel very strongly about the effects of the sun, not just the sun on rosacea. Surely we are still allowed to give our opinions? This isn't Dr. Lazoff's group (nor do I feel she thinks that it is); we can all give our opinions, let's just not flip out about it!
