Doxycycline and sun

I am currently on 100 mg. of doxycycline every other day. Since the hot weather

began a month ago, I have noticed that my face is red more frequently and also

more irritated. Last summer I was on minocycline and had little problem with

the

sun, heat, and humidity. I wear wide-brimmed hats and a sunblock of 60 spf. I

also stay out of the mid-day sun but my skin is still irritated. Does being on

doxycycline mean you need to avoid the sun at all times? Is there another

antibiotic, besides minocycline, that makes you less photosensitive?

Thanks,
