Guest guest
I see another " daily topic " list forming here...but before I digress I must say that that is a VERY good question. I know that you are NOT supposed to get pregnant after MGB but some have and sucessful outcomes I might add. There is the risk of nutritional deficiency etc. I would see why the shot is ruled out > I dont see why you can't take the pill(BCP) Also there is foam and condoms 95%+ effective when used together. More permanently ......tubal ligation. Of course I will digress now... Abstinence is 100% effective.......but its not a choice some of us or our partners could live with...lol My husband says " some woman use their personalities for birth control " again this might make others in your life unhappy....lol Any other ideas folks? Also, the MGB throws your hormones off. That is also the same reason for not using the depot shot. Anything hormonally based will fail. Dr R post about this. Does any still have that post? You can get pregnant after the MGB, but are advised to wait a minimum of one year because the malabsorption of nutrients is potentially dangerous for the fetus. So, he we are advised to wait until the period of rapid weight loss is over. I had this surgery SPECIFICALLY to have a baby. I have no fertility problems, but I rupture prematurely every time. le

After that it's okay. Dr. R. says the problem with the pill is malabsorption. {{HUGS}} Claire MGB 4/10/00 300/264 15.25 inches lost forever!! Guest guest
Doggone it. Did we forget to mention that we are advocates of sexual abstinence. We're sorry. We should have mentioned that.
