Guest guest
I'm not an R.D. ( " real " doctor), but please allow me to stick my oar in here. To me at least, a link between rosacea and diet is beyond question. In my profession, I meet with alot of people (though sometimes I may wish the dogs would walk in on their own) and the two very worst cases of rosacea with rhinophyma I have seen were both alcoholics. The real question to me is why certain things we ingest make rosacea worse: Is it purely facial flushing or is there more to it than that? Overall, for whatever it's worth, I have to agree with Marjorie. The fact that the vast majority of rosacea sufferers are of Celtic decent, and that Celts have little or no differences in diet from anyone else, makes it more likely that it is how our cutaneous vascularity responds to certain foods, etc. that causes our affliction. I have read many posts on this site from people who have, through desperation, tried just about every extreme dietary manipulation possible in an attempt to control their symptoms. The only thing they all seem to have in common is their spectacular lack of success.
