Guest guest
sorry for that last empty msg. I'm new here.. and I'm currently seeing a derm in toronto canada by the name of john goldhar(near queen and universty). The problem with my condition is that i'm not sure if it's correctly diagnosed. I have rosacea symptoms(,flushing if stressed and heated), as well as other sypmtoms supposedly not presentin rosacea ..eg blackheads/clogged pores mostly on/around the nose. there are some red veins also. but the main problem is the moderate redness and flushing symptoms that i'm worried about...i don't have bumps. I guess there is some acne symptoms mixed in as well. my skin is generally oily yet NOT itchy(esp the problem areaS noted before). another problem is that my skin tends to peel off(it's the dead skin i guess)quite readily which usually clogs the pores...hence there may be seborrhea symptoms as well...or maybe something else. My clogged pores are weird in the sense that not all are black...some but not all clogged pores are plugged with what looks like lighter colored material..it looks like dead skin(some clogged pores look white when washed). surprisingly..it is these " white pores " that are easier to fall off since they tend to project outwards whereas the typical " blackheads " are usually the most stubborn things in the world(more than me). I was taking noritate since last august with vitamin a and benzyl peroxide on alternating nights for the blackheads. but nothing seems to be working. recently i got rosacure for about 2 months and again things are still the same. I tried accutane before and although it's great on the oily skin..it makes the dead skin come off like mad..rapid peeling of skin. this condition started when i was 16..i'm 22 now.I'm male and my ethnicity is chinese. My main concern is the flaking..i'm not sure if it's seborrhea or not..i'll have to talk to goldhar again...but it feels like he's given up on me. i was wondering if any of you have similar symptoms. Also know that you should always be careful of wrong diagnoses..i've been getting help for my rosacea/acne/seb?(not really sure what it is)..with endless rounds of metrogel/noritate..etc. if nothing seems to improve i'm guessing the medication isn't working or my diagnosis is wrong..or maybe i need stronger treatment etc. So my final question is..do any of you by chance know any skin disorders that causes your skin to peel? I think it has something to do with abnormal cell growth in which the cell's growth cycle is sped up to insanity..thus dead cells aplenty..i read about it somewhere on the net..but i forgot where. sorry about this dictionary, i'm just a little desperate. thanks for your time!
