Guest guest
Sorry to hear about Shelby being sick. Glad she was able to have her birthday at home. Having it in the hospital would be absolutely no fun. I figured some of it was age. She's cranky about a lot of stuff now that she wasn't cranky about before. The CPT just sort of is top of the list for her. I might talk to the family and see about getting Triana a trampoline for Yuletide (that reminds me...need to start making cookie dough this weekend). Her aunt and uncle mentioned getting one at one point. I'll make sure it's on her list of stuff she wants. (In my husband's family, all the kids make up a list of the stuff they want, and then the adults coordinate and try to buy from the list, adding in anything else they want to.) Daddy's bouncy horse is also coming to our house. My husband's aunt has 3 kids...ages 14, 6, and 4. She's been borrowing it from my mother-in-law for her kids, but they've outgrown it now. So we'll probably go pick it up this weekend, if I can get ahold of my aunt-in-law. That may help some, since it involves a lot of bouncing. Anyhow, hope everything goes well for Shelby, and for her birthday. Shanna mom of Triana, age 2 wcf CPT Shanna, I know what you are going through - we are having exaclty the same problem with Shelby (2 today 16th) it must be their age. Shelby was diagnosed in February 2001 so she has been having CPT for quite a while now. Its only just the last couple of months when she has started to rebel. She gets worse when she is sick and that is bad because her clinic advises doing CPT more when she has a bad cough. Torsten, I would be very interested in more detail about your alternatives to CPT. We do the jumping on the bed thing, we also bought a small indoor bouncy castle, we do blowing and puffing, and we also do a lot of running and dancing. Everyone, In the UK and most of Europe we do not have the option of the Vest unless we are able to pay for it. Even then it would be difficult to arrange replacements and maintenance. Shelby News Shelby has been veyr sick this last two weeks, she is at last improving a bit. She has been on that " Z " stuff cant spell it and its only 5.58am. and on a double dose of Flofluxicillin (another spelling mistake). We have her annual checkup on Monday and Louise and I both have a suspicion they will keep her in. At least this year she will have had her birthday at home and not like last year in hospital. She is two today 16th November. Lots of love to all Grandma Maggs

Guest guest
Years ago when we Cory was little and we were doing CPT, I was always looking for ways to make it easier on him. We watched videos, sang songs, and so forth but the older he got, it didn't always work. A friend of mine who it is a physical therapist suggested and Therapy ball.(a cheaper version can be bought at a toy store like Toy's R Us) It worked great. Cory would lay over the large ball while I did the pounding. To him it was more like play. It had a second advantage to. As you pounded on his chest while he was over the ball, it would vibrate back. It worked great and made CPT alot less painless. We also bought a small inside trampoline. After CPT, he knew he could jump on the tramoline. He had no idea that the jumping was helping him. He always thought it was a reward for cooperating with his therapy. Of course now he is a teenager and getting him cooperate with any type of air way clearance is a chore.
