Guest guest
n! Hello and thank you sooooooooooooo much for your response. How do you know all of this stuff? I am very impressed with your knowledge! You never fail to amaze me! I guess the remaining question is...What do I do now? Will the pulmonologist recognize this a significant? Or,....does it take a Genetic counselor to know about this kind of rare finding? I don't know much at all about my husbands family background. He is 33 yrs old and I managed to locate his Dad 2 years ago! Come to find out that Caden takes a lot after his Dad! He is left handed and so is he. Caden also has the same exact kidney problem as his great uncle (My husbands Dad's brother or Caden's grandfather's brother). Both have a small tube coming from the kidney to the bladder. The man wound up having his surgically fixed at age 15. My husband's dad has been married like 6 times! ha I don't know much about their background but have always felt like there is some Asian or something close to Asian in their family. Caden has epicanthelfolds on his eyes. Not as noticeable now that he is older. I need to investigate further. Really, I we would be Jessup's, if Mike had his Dad's last name. s is his mom's maiden name. What would you do now? I truly need some guidance here. My husband and I are both clueless about what to do. I figured something was up when they recommended genetic counseling. I don't think they do if they don't find anything do they? Well, I am thankful for all of the great information you have given me. I hate to push it and keep bothering you but I really don't have anywhere else to go and I have found that the best support come from those other than professionals (Dr's). Guest guest
I'd call up the genetics guys/gals at the CF Center and ask for an appointment ASAP. Get them to explain this in detail to you. If you don't understand what they're talking about, tell them you don't understand, and make them keep explaining until you do. Just my two cents.
