Guest guest
Hi , I think this medication is relatively new and made by Stiefel Canada. It's not available in the US. Besides having 1%Metronizadole (the same percentage as in Noritate), it has spf 15 protection by the inclusion of Parsol 1789 and Mexoryl SX (or Mexoryl XL),both chemical sunscreens which have broad based UVA protection. Mexoryl SX is patented by L'Oreal, though I guess they let Stiefel Canada use it in sol. Mexoryl is not an FDA approved sunscreen agent, but it is available in Canada, Europe and Asia. I think I'm going to buy some sunscreen with Mexoryl in it from a Canadian pharmacy that ships to the US. I'll let the group know how it goes when I try it out. Here's a link to an article that Stiefel Canada wrote under their Acne Research and Treatment Center. http://216.239.39.100/search? q=cache:2nFpXmMiWTgC:www.skincareguide.com/SkinTherapyLetterV6N08.pdf+ rosasol&hl=en You have to copy and paste this into your browser as the link breaks after the first line. , let us know how it goes with sol after you try it. Take care, Matija > It is a 1% metrondiazonal cream with an SPF of 15. Clinical results look good > > >

Guest guest
Hi, I think this was meant for the group. Matija To: " ruizdelvizo " ruizdelvizo@...> Date: Sat, 6 Apr 2002 22:29:20 -0800 Hi all I've been using sol for a year now, and can say that it has kept my rosacea stable all that time. A year ago I was desperate. I'd broken out in a strange rash which I thought might be an allergic reaction to Zinco, and was so red I actually went to the dermatologist seeking photoderm. He persuaded me to give sol a try, and it's worked really well. I use Vita Oil around eyes and then a bit of the sol (you only need a little) in the morning on cheeks, nose and chin. You're supposed to use it twice a day ( which I did for the first few months), but I seem to be OK with just the morning. I still blush and flush with the usual triggers, but very few outbreaks of p & p, and my skin is normal colour most of the time. Now if I could just find something as effective for the worsening ocular symptoms..... Rosie
