Jill,

Jill,

Don't ever feel bad that or think you aren't participating enough. Nobody,

and I mean nobody can keep up with everything. When I fall behind, I just try

and pick up where things are at that moment. I used to try and go back and

answer all the emails I missed, but quickly learned that by that time,

everything had changed in everyone's life anyway. My best bet was to start

reading with the current emails, and find out what was happening now. One of

the best things that we have here is that people can feel free to come and go

depending on their health, illness, how they are feeling, etc. There are no

expectations. We just want to know how you are doing and if there is anything

we can do to help.

If you have some solid gallstones, then there really is no choice but to get

them out before they do cause a lot more problems. Today, with the

Laparoscopic GB surgery, there is less likelihood of problems happening. I

had my surgery in 1987, and they weren't doing them then. I was opened up

from head to toe, and they had to clean out all my ducts. So really it was

more like going to war.

I have adopted a much more holistic approach to healing and am seeking

alternative options first. The problem with many of the alternative options

is that they don't work as well in acute situations. They require serious

lifestyle changes and ongoing preventive care. I do remember that someone

told me to drink apple cider vinegar to dissolve my gallstones, but by the

time they had me buckled over and jaundice, it really didn't work. It was

also hard for me to have the positive attitude and say affirmations, when I

was in so much pain. The deal was that I didn't believe it would help. Today,

I really believe in the power of positive thought. You have to believe that

you are going to be healed.

AND, speaking of that, the questionnaire I had to fill out for Dr. Mercola,

in Chicago, had me answer the question, " Do I want to get well? " Initially,

anyone would say, of course, but it made me aware that when we live with

chronic illness, we begin to develop a lifestyle that is not conducive to

living well. Every time I say, " I feel terrible " or " I can't get anything

done " we program our minds to believe that we feel terrible and can't get

anything done. Changing what we say and think is just the beginning of the

road to wellness.

Anybody want to come?
