Calling all post-ops: HELP

I am 6 days post-op and have had my first negative experience. Last night

at

about 1 a.m. I was awakened suddenly by a reflux of bile. It was so disgusting.

I have not had any reflux from my GERD since surgery but this was like that

except the taste was of bile (YUCK). Is there anything I can do to prevent this

from happening again. Is this why we take the Actigal? I am not to start it

for

another week and I don't want to have this until then. Please advise.

Darlene

Thought I was going to get off easy.

a,

I do keep Tums at my bedside but I don't always take it right before I go to

bed.

Is that all I need to do? I can do that.

Thanks

Hi Darlene, do you have a supplement chart? Yes, you should take two

TUMS before bed. It may help.

Hey ,

I had the acid reflux twice and it is NASTY to say the least..i would

get up and take some tums and a little water and that seemed to help.

at first i thought it was from laying down so i sat up for 2 nights.

but this happened about 6 weeks ago and have not had it since. I am 2

months post-op and am still taking the prilosec. It has helped a

great deal..take care and remember this too shall pass..
