Hi Everyone,

Ever since I realized I had cea, this group has been the single

biggest resource for me. All the posts and information and feedback

has been incredibly valuable.

I'm a professional software developer and I had an idea of a cea

specific website that would offer the following:

1- A searchable database of popular OTC and prescription products

that cea sufferers have used with success.

2- Complete list of ingredients for all products

3- Testimonials of cea sufferers regarding the product(s)/treatment(s)

they used with success along with the following:

A) The stage of cea when beginning product use

B) Their specific symptoms

C) Their product/treatment regimen

I think feature #3 would be INCREDIBLY useful because in my opinion

those with similar symptoms and at similar stages may benefit from the

products that others have found useful.

I am looking for feedback and opinions. Do you think this would be

useful for you and other cea Sufferers? Would you be able to

participate in providing product data and testimonials? Are there

any other features you would want?

I am more than willing to create, maintain and foot the bill for this

website resource as long as there is a demand and as long as others

participate in helping with the data entry (i.e. products & ingredients)

Thanks for your feedback and time.

I suggest including a section on alternative

treatments for cea such as homeopathy, Chinese

medicine, etc.

There isn't nearly enough discussion on alternative

medicine.

& ,

Getting members to input database information on a form hasn't been very

popular.

Pascoe has a database feature on his sister site at this url:

http://rosacea.ii.net/treatments.html

As of this date only eleven reponses.

I have experimented with using database features of yahoo at this site:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rosaceans/

The results of the database on several questions have a total of only 41

responses and

most of the information from these database questions is input from me,

particularly the

physician database.

However, polls are much more popular. At the above site if you click on POLLS

which lists several questions there has been 125 votes cast on different poll

questions.

I am not trying to discourage you and from trying to implement an

ingredient list or

what described in his original email, but I am trying to show you what data

I have

tried to collect from members and the results are poor. This email support

group using

the yahoo feature of email seems to be the most popular method at present to

collect

information on rosacea. On my site, rosaceans.com, I have tried to categorize

the non-

prescription and prescription treatments, the IPL sites, physician search

engines, and

other categories into logical subjects as a clearinghouse of information on

rosacea.

This has been over a three year project and much of the information gathered

came

from this group, which I salute Pacoe for his insight into bringing this

group

together. This is the largest rosacea support group on planet earth and

is to be

commended for what he has done here. I particulary like the DIGEST feature of

yahoo

which is easier to read from this group since there are so many posts and

reduces the

clutter in my mail box. Hope this helps you two.
