Hi molly,

You can refrigerate or freeze the milk but you will need to heat it

again (and cool) before adding the starter.

Okay, so I'm getting differing opinions here. Care to elaborate on

why not?

Can you use your own

batch of yogurt as starter to make more?

What are the differing opinions?

IIRC we shouldn't do this because of mutations from batch to batch that

you won't get with a standard starter.

BTW, I use regular yogurt. I use it up fairly fast, but find that I can't

use an opened container longer than 2 weeks. Take care, Fay

Hi Terri,

> Can you use your own batch of yogurt as starter to make more?

No, you should use fresh yogurt starter. Elaine explains why not in

BTVC p158 10th Edition.
