Dear Peg, I agree with you about not having his spleen removed if Dr.

Sutherland is in charge of the surgery. I know that Dr. Sutherland knows

what is best for each patient he operates on. I trust him completely.

is young and I am old so I would think that our ages would make a

huge difference in the decision of removing ones spleen.

You have made me so happy by telling me that is eating FF potatoes. I

can just imagine the heaven he is in. Does he ever tell you that FF are so

good? LOLOLOL I bet so many foods taste so great to him. I know I continue

to marvel at the food I can eat and how much I can eat. Sometimes still I

have to pinch myself when I sit down to a large delicious meal. It is a

miracle. When one suffers for so long and is so hungry for so many years I

believe that no one can ever understand the feeling one has when they are

finally able to eat. Only someone who has starved and suffered as

has would know to the extent that he knows how wonderful it is to eat. God

Bless him always.

I am so sorry that Dirk has now entered a battle that is extremely hard. It

sounds as though his doctors are hitting the cancer aggressively. I will

keep him in my prayers and keep positive thoughts in my mind as you continue

to teach me and I need your positive teachings sometimes. I will take one

day at a time with my thoughts of Dirk and your family. I sometimes feel

overwhelmed by all the illness that comes to me and mine but I always change

the negative thoughts to the blessings I have received in my life. Thanks so

much Peg for reminding us to take one day at a time.

Please give my best to Dirk and tell to ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!

Love, Shirley
