GI Visit Yesterday

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday I made it to my appointment at Froedtert - a teaching hospital in

Milwaukee. I was pretty impressed. The doctor spent 1.5 hours asking me

questions and going over my medical records. No student doctors!! He called

me a very complex woman... That I am in all aspects of my life. Guess I

couldn't expect my GI problems to be simple and straight forward when nothing

else about me is.

Anyway, I am happy with my visit. The doc is going to try and get me admitted

within the next couple of weeks for testing. This way it can be covered by

the Hill-Burton act where it wouldn't be as an outpatient. Most likely I

will have an ERCP because the Urinalysis is showing much the same results as

it was before the ERCP with Sphinterotomy. First, of all things, he needs to

write a letter explaining why I need the treatment in Milwaukee County

instead of Kenosha County where I live. I doubt very seriously if they have

the equipment needed to do an ERCP here in Kenosha County.

Please keep me your prayers that I won't run into any road blocks to prevent

me from getting treatment and testing.

Thanks Everyone!!!

Hope to see everyone at the Symposium!!

Lots of Gentle Hugs,

ReeAnn

Hi ReeAnn,

I am happy to hear you were seen at Froedtert. I have only posted

here once but I had an acute attack last September and have had

problems since. I have also been seeing a GI at Froedtert - Dr.

Staff (I also work at the Medical College). Although he can't seem

to diagnose me, he has stated " Your pancreas is not normal " .

However, he and his nurse have been wonderful. He has done every non

invasive test there is and he is always willing to see me same day if

I am having problems. From all the doctors I work with, they say

Froedtert is a good place to start. They have state of the art

equipment and many of the doctors are up on the newest research. I

hope you get answers very soon and stay comfortable in the meantime.
