Hi All:

Having been on Doxycycline for 4 weeks and using Metrogel and Nizorel for 8

weeks I thought I had my rosacea and seb/derm just about under control. The

redness had gone and most of the flakiness. Yesterday I awoke with a

dime-size red spot on one cheek. Before I went to bed last night the spot

had GROWN to the size of a pingpong ball. This morning I awake to find it

even larger. It is very red and also swollen. The texture of the skin

inside the red spot is sort of rough. Is this typical of the way redness

appears? Also, I find that this spot is very hot to touch. It feels as

though I have fever in one cheek. My husband felt both my cheeks and he was

amazed at the difference in temperature. Is this unusual?

I'm still trying to find my triggers. I don't think I've eaten anything out

of the ordinary. I sculpt in polymer clay and I wonder if I could be

allergic to the clay. I know it sounds as though I'm 'grasping at straws'

but I want to explore any possible connection. How frustrating this is.

Anyone else use polymer clay? I've discarded the idea that the rosin from my

fiddle bow could be a trigger as I stopped playing for a week and saw no

difference. I also noted that on the day preceding my flare-up there was

yellow pollen all over my car when I was out. I wonder.... sigh.
