I don't know about other states... but you might want to check out WIC...

they have both the Medela and Advent Pump-In-Style... they loan out the

Medela or will give you a PIS.... worth checking in to. When Josh was

hospitalized at 5 weeks they had me pump my milk from then on and add

fortifiers... I was heartbroken, but was glad he could still use my milk.

Once I got home I didn't think I'd be able to keep up after using the

hospital pump for so long... the PIS worked just fine, you can do one side

at a time or double pump. One word of caution though::: Don't try to screw

the cones on the bottles too hard or it will crack.... just experience... I

still get to nurse Josh once or twice a day - that is if he isn't to lazy to

do it.... He found the bottle was just a lot easier than mom....

The pump I used (8 or 9 years ago) was a Medela. Call a local La Leche

League chapter (they are all over the world) and see if they can sell or

rent you one. Mine was so easy to take to work and had all of the bottles

and everything.
